After 255 episodes we're just surprised as you that we haven't covered this one yet! But here we are 2022 , the year of our Lord, covering what is probably the MOST FAMOUS "true crime" legend of all time....JACK THE RIPPER. I'd say probably the most famous serial killer as well.
Jack's ripping spree spanned between August - November of 1888 in the East End neighborhood of London known as "White Chapel". All of Jack's victims were women of the same ilk. Alcoholic Prostitutes who no longer had substantial ties to their families. There's some debate that he may have begun killing earlier in the year as there were 11 violent murders against women that spanned from April of 1888-February of 1889. These murders were conveniently labeled as the "White Chapel Murders" However, there are 5 core murders that most experts agree were definitely his , the "Canonical 5". We'll cover these 5 murders as well as discuss some POSSIBLE suspects.

Apparently, there is a disproportionate amount of Grateful Dead fans who are getting murdered or end up missing on their way to, during, or after seeing the "Dead" live in concert. Is there some kind of evil spell Jerry Garcia and his band of merry pranksters are casting when they jump up on stage? Or...are the droves of drugged out hippies who have followed this band around for DECADES setting themselves up to be "Sitting Ducks" for the wolves of this world to do as they may? Either way, gives new meaning to being a "Dead Head".

With all the craziness that both Art and I went through in the month of January, we both decided we needed to do a more light hearted topic this week. We came together like butt cheeks and wanted to discuss our all time favorite singers. I say this during the episode and I want to reinforce it now...this is OUR favorite singers. Last week we gave you a break from the string of true crime cases we had been covering....BUT we back on our booooo shiiiiit with another.... Unsolved.... Mystery. Ok, if you didn't hear Robert Stack saying that in your head , that's on you not me. Anyways, Art is still battling Covid and he's at home so we zoomed in for this one again, hence the shotty audio quality on his end. As suggested by the Brown Recluse himself, this is a case where on the DAY OF THE SUPER BOWL, David Lewis went missing. Possibly MINUTES after his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys , won Super Bowl 27. This case is a REAL head scratcher as WE DON"T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW , WHEN, AND WHY David went missing and when his body was found WHY HE WAS FOUND WHERE HE WAS FOUND. Maybe one of our brilliant listeners have an idea.... "Maybe YOU can solve a Mystery"- Robert Herbert Stack, probably.
