We all know about the drug "CRACK". If you're around our age you're also aware of the effects that drug had in our communities (particularly African American communities).
What if I told you this epidemic was an unfortunate result of the CIA turning a blind eye to Nicaraguan drug traffickers bringing TONS of cocaine in to America to help fund the CIA backed Contras in their country? Seems far fetched right?
Well thanks to investigative journalist Gary Webb's research and 3-part article titled "Dark Alliance" this became more "Conspiracy Fact" than "Conspiracy theory" .
There would be tremendous blow back by the Federal Government as well as well as the mainstream media who black ball Gary from the industry and lead him to his untimely suicide....or murder....

A few weeks...months....or was it a few years ago....(?) we covered "The Yuba County 5" which was dubbed 'America's Dyatlov Pass" . During that recording we said "we'll cover that one sometime down the line".....well, welcome to down the line!
The Dyatlov Pass Incident is an unsolved case where 9 experienced hikers disappeared and died in the northern Russian wilderness under dubious circumstances. The Russian government's hesitation to help and keep the investigation under wraps lead to all sorts of theories on what exactly happened to the Dyatlov party. Aliens, Yeti, Russian military, American military, Magic Mushroom Reindeer piss...yep all of those theories have been Brought to the table to explain their deaths. Here's an interesting topic. HOLLYWOOD ON STRIKE. Why should you care about "rich" actors and writers going on strike for more money and benefits? Well, 99% of working actors and writers are NOT rich. IN FACT most are working for probably less money than you and working with LESS benefits than you are as well. Some might say..."oh well, they must not be good actors or writers" ....well that's not true either because some of the writers behind some of the biggest shows on tv are showing up and winning awards with negative bank account balances.
Corporate greed and the ever changing business model brought upon the industry thanks to streaming has created this problem. But even if they fight and win back higher residuals and benefits SAG-AFTRA and WGA have the foresight to see what could replace them if they do not regulate it....A.I. They also stand to lose their job to artificial intelligence ...setting up a future that makes "Terminator" more of a documentary than and sci fi classic.
